During the in-game action, fan engagement with the big screen, the Washington Nationals ran a common fan engagement tactic that utilizes the big-screen to award prizes and build excitement in the fans.

This shot is a little messed up because it was the first few shots I was taking, and I had the camera on a different setting for action shots. The light sensitivity needed for action shots must have caused some distortion as a result. Although, I think you can still make out what is happening here, I will explain.

The promotion was called “Random Acts of Red”. The broadcaster would enter the crowd and award some gift. The man behind him, can be seen dangling his child over the railing in front of him. This might not have been the level of fan engagement we all are hoping for. I guess there is one in every crowd.
